Strivers row 03:48
A full moon is over harlem i'm strolling down strivers row and i i want to be a part of but i'm far from home i'm waiting for your world to let me in i wanna be, be where you've been i'm waiting for a light to show me when...... when we can begin well i just want to know i'm a long way from home i saw you pour your heart out i watched you for a while, you stood up and you went to live out your motto and i'll live out mine

across the fields and into the valley these days are long and the light is strong we weren't to know how friends would come and go you bring the arrows and i'll bring the bow who would have thought this was our feeling you pay attention or you pay the price one move too slow can take all you'll ever know i know your leaving but i have to go we can make it back there's still enough time just follow the son and we'll be fine and resting by the fire we'll focus on the flame and talk about it all and how close we came across the fields and into the valley these days are long and the light is strong we weren't to know how friend can turn to foe you bring the ice and i'll bring the snow

i know it's the same but i know that i've changed, so it looks a little off to me and it's so far down, you forget what the ground has to say when you're falling free and there's so much left, that i want to say, but who's listening anyway? when you miss your turn let those loose ends burn let em blow away look at the stone, purple and chrome, for as far as the eye can see they'll outlast us all as we stumble and fall, into our lives last degree and the mountains can tell, all our tears of regret, as our eyes they finally see that it's not what you want but more what you need that'll bring you back to me some people got born, some people got torn and some people went far away it was only for a time, now far further down the line, with all our fading memory but if i was back there, i know and i swear, that i'd tell you about all these dreams but the truth will out without favour, without doubt and in the end we will see it's a barren land, it's a calling to stand and it's a place to hide away where you can be, close to the sea but it's still a life away but i've been there, and i'm aware, and i know that it'll always be cuz i'm the kind who made up his mind as the only way to see yeah i'm the kind, who made up his mind as the only way to be

we were out of time, we got mapped along different lines i sat outside your walls and i wondered, what lay inside and i know that somewhere on the other side there's an ocean full of secrets and mystery on the tide and i know that somewhere buried deep there's gold for us to find as our worlds unwind, we get to really see inside and as the days turn into wine, we take our turns down the mine but when we get out, the sun's still waiting there and the evening brings a warmth for us to share and the golden glow on the hills makes us even more aware and you can turn around and you can say that it could never be you can turn around and say, not for you and me if you live your life inland you can't live another by the sea cuz in the end you'll never know where you're supposed to be and as we make our way the fading light leads us astray we stumble over stones sometimes i can't tell night from day but there's a light on the horizon and it bleeds across the sky and it shows the way again we can see why all of this is what makes it true the rest is just a lie
